Hélène Fleury works with oil into the fresh varnish, often over gold or silver leaf, which contributes to create rich depth effects.

The Subjects:
The sphere
Every point at the surface of a sphere is equal to the other. Sphere is the symbol of totality, it can also be the symbol of the beginning. It can evoke a planet as well as a star, an ovule or an atom. It dives us at the same time in the infinitely big and the infinitely small. Spheres all float in infinite universes.
The Spiral
The spiral, original movement, is too, without a beginning or an end. We realize as we paint it that there is, in the spiral, nowhere to rest. It is a perpetual movement.
The Landscapes
Two landscapes are surimposed on a same canvas: a landscape in a landscape, a representation in a representation to bring us back to this two dimensions reality of the canvas surface, of the image wich, in fact, is never the reality, It's only a perception. As the surrealist Magritte would say: "This is not a Landscape".
The light
Sometimes, only simple perceptions of light emanate from
the richness of the pigments and transparencies, making the joy of
the artist.
