PORCELAIN
is made from a white clay, consisting mainly of kaolin. It vitrifies when fired, making it translucent when thin.
TECHNIQUE
It is usually poured into molds in the form of a slip because it is very capricious. It is difficult to work it by hand. It does not tolerate tensions well and tends to crack. The hand shaped parts require the utmost care and a regular extended drying time.
